Annual 4th of July at LBJ

It's cRaZy to remember back to this exact place 1 year ago with a 5 week old!
525 pictures later... these are some of the best to depict the amount of fun we had at our Annual Ernst/Metcalf/Brown/Blagg/Johnson 4th of July Trip at Lake LBJ!

They were trying to wait up for the fireworks!!

Thank you mom and Joe for what was such a perfect weekend with family!!

The weekend began with Marshall and Sean getting a hair cut and we were quick to throw Carter in line (a savings of $20 bucks!)

Who knew what the end result would be for the weekend!?!? A Mohawk!

I never knew how cute a 2 year old could be with one, as long as he is in a polo!?! ;)

Everyone prepared the floats late after the kids were in bed! This was sErIouS!!!

There was the BIG Children's Parade Float where we managed to place what I think is 4-5 years in a row... this year squeaking out a 1st place victory! After the Children's Parade, was the BIG ADULT PARADE! This was the first time the Ernst Family has entered this... (complete with our 1949 John Deer pulling us all!) We were blown away at how great Carter was ALL morning long in the extreme hot Texas weather! Although he was perfectly behaved, he was exhausted after having thrown out over 85 pounds of candy to the crowds!

Fireworks and Poppers were such a hit with the kids!

These 2, Ainsley and Addie, were deep in conversation...
Carter would not leave his cousin Marshall's side the entire time. He would just follow him around and they both played so perfectly together!

Some of my favorite time each afternoon was when the ENTIRE family was out on the dock and in the water! Carter took a while to warm up to the idea of swimming in the lake but in stepped the magical Julie and had him splashing in no time!

The lake on July 4th is like an ocean from 10 - 5PM, so the kids loved their early morning rides. Addie would just giggle and giggle!

The bottom line was as much fun as this weekend was, the best part was all the family time we had!
