More Fun Than A Playground!

We had 10 yards of good dirt dumped in our yard as Blake and I took on the lofty goal of composting our yard in efforts to save nearly $400 bucks. Although, if asked while in the middle of that effort, I would have gladly written a check, Blake and I got to spend a somewhat fun day together and got a darn good workout at the same time.
Addie and Carter definitley had a wonderful fun time too, climbing up and sliding down a million times.
Addie did try to help us...
Blake and I joked, "For a task that takes such incredible physical stamina, the immediate end result is so ugly! Hopefully though, with some time and some good ol' T.L.C., goodbye weeds!
We will jokingly look back on this task in 20 years and reminisce on what we accomplished together when we were young! ;)

Addie & Bluebonnets

Thank you to my sweet baby girl for being so cooperative for something that I was looking so forward to doing with you!

"Basketball Pants"

This has suddenly become the highest reward in our home... more coveted than ice cream or candy.  A couple of weeks ago, Carter started negotiating to get "to wear basketball pants," if he "didn't pull a card at school" (get in trouble) and he was highly motivated by it.  So everyday now, as soon as Blake or I walk into daycare to get him, he says, "I didn't have a time-out, can I go put my basketball shirt and pants on?" So we are going with it! This is the typical wardrobe scene at our house after school!
F.Y.I. (A 3 year old's definition of a "basketball shirt" is any shirt that is sleeveless and "basketball pants" are only basketball pants if they are made with that athletic fabric that has little holes in it?!?! Where did he get this?!?!

What Addie Looks Like Going to Sleep Everynight.

It's memories like this I want to always remember...
She must have her white blanket over her. Her baby at her side and "baby" must always have a "blanket" covering her. "Maverick" and "Smokey" must be on her other side as well as "Lamby" somewhere near. I guess this is Carter's version of sleeping with a "ball" every single night at this same age!

"In LUV"

That is the title of the email that was sent to me a couple of weeks ago with this picture of Addie and Jack from their teacher at Concordia.

Dallas With The Brown Side!

I must say that one thing I have learned since being a parent of 2 toddlers and loving to take pictures, you can get some pretty amazing pictures of kids and adults when you stop saying, "Look here!" or "Say cheese!" and instead just snap the picture. I LOVE the pictures I got a couple of weekends ago while we were in Dallas.
