Wow... what a trip! Easily, the best part of an amazing vacation....
THE SAIL BOAT we rented with Captain Miguel and Agata for the day.
Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean off Key Biscayne in front of President Nixon's old house.
Lots of good sushi, like our lunch in downtown Key Biscayne at Sushi Siam very near the Ritz Carlton, where all four of our meals were amazing!
Emeril's for a relaxing group dinner date on South Beach but we wish we had experienced true Cuban food like at Sazon on South Beach. One night we headed out to Coconut Grove, a hip but relaxed part of Miami, that we all really loved and wished we had time to go back.
One of the most amazing meals we had, I used my trusty ol' best friend of 4 years - Trip Advisor and found this gem - The Burger and Beer Joint! Easily the coolest hamburger place ever and you would NOT believe the DETAILS in this place!
It was a perfect way to to end 4 amazingly fun and relaxing days away together with good friends.
Other key points to remember about Key Biscayne:
- K.B. is about 14 miles from South Beach, which was okay since we rented a car the entire time. But everyone else paid $90 round trip into South Beach every day. Renting a car was the best so that we could go eat outside of the hotel for nearly every meal and really get some great food.
- The Ritz Carlton was nice, but really, not as special as I would have expected for being "The Ritz." It's really the only hotel on KB. The beach was not that nice either.. it was VERY narrow and the water and sand reminded me of South Padre at best. (Good thing we only hung out on the beach for an hour.) The food in all 3 of the restaurants on the property were said not to be that good and severely OVERPRICED.
- In the future, I would rather stay on South Beach (but make sure you had a quieter location on Ocean Ave. or INSTEAD try somewhere like The Keys in FAR SOUTH FL like Key West again!)
